The FIRST® Robotics Competition's Greater Pittsburgh Regional is another in a series of high-energy, high-tech, international robotics tournaments where teams of students, mentored by adult professionals, work together to solve a unique engineering design problem. This year's tournament will feature 48 of the best high school robotics teams from six eastern and midwestern states, and the People's Republic of China!

This season's three-day tournament is expected to draw over 1,500 high school students and their cheering fans to Pittsburgh's David L. Lawrence Convention Center. While none of the CMSD teams from the Great Lakes Science Center's Robotics Initiative will be competing at this event, JonDarr Bradshaw, the science center's program lead for the Robotics Initiative, will be serving as the featured Game Announcer for the livestream webcast!
Spectators Welcome!
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Spectators can tour the "pits" to meet the teams and get a closer look at their robots! Don't miss any of the heart-pounding excitement of this intense robotics competition as the teams demonstrate their design, fabrication, and programming skills as their student-engineered industrial-sized, mobile robots battle on the competition field for top honors!
